THE OPPORTUNITY

All across our country, thought leaders and creative contributors in every sector are innovating in response to the climate challenge. This busy energy is producing new benefits, which while still in their early phase, are demonstrating their value. A look back into our long history of innovation should encourage confidence that we have the potential to meet the challenge of climate change and to do so in a way that can shape a healthier, safer, more equitable future.
We should look with excitement on the innovation emerging from nonprofits, business, universities, incubators, accelerators, and that place of historic American invention, the garage. As they scale across sectors, in addition to solutions, they are creating new jobs and offering new careers. The most important catalyst that will speed our journey forward is the shared cooperation that will enable us to achieve our goals.

THE IMAGINE FORWARD CAMPAIGN

The Campaign will hold a mirror to the best of who we are. It will reflect the history of a nation that fulfilled dreams of opportunity for millions; supported waves of innovation; sustained numerous fights for progress on the continuing journey to achieve the ideals expressed in our founding documents. Most importantly, it will focus on the “can do” spirit that has been central to American culture.

The Campaign will feature education about emerging directions, training for facilitators, solutions for community climate mitigation and resilience, non-carbon producing innovations, and access to expertise to help community groups adopt them.
