Orientation Event

The Civic Imagination Challenge is an invitation to the generations at the forefront of leadership for the transition to a sustainable future, to learn from Thought Leaders and Innovators about emerging directions, the benefits they are creating, and how they are shaping new pathways to a sustainable future.

While many innovations are emerging as a response to climate change, the need to accelerate adoption is important to realize their benefits. The Civic Imagination Challenge provides authentic knowledge on their new possibilities, an app and training in using it for a new kind of advocacy that can inspire public engagement.

The Orientation Event features:

  • A Climate Impact presentation organized by Gavin Schmidt of NASA
  • Per Espen Stoknes, author, Tomorrow’s Economy, on a “sixth wave” of innovation that will create a green economy.
  • Michael Vandenbergh, Vanderbilt University Climate Research Network lead speaks to the responsibility of the private sector, civic values, and the common good.
