Organizing a Brainstorming Event

  1. Select a comfortable meeting space
  2. Invite between 6 and 12 people
  3. Focus on one topic
  4. Include information on the selected topic in your email invitation
  5. Have resources on hand such as: post-it notes, colored dots, index cards, markers, pencils, pens, magazines, scissors, and if possible, a white board
  6. Recommend participants review Guidelines for Team Members prior to the event
  7. Chose a Facilitator who can explain the rules and encourage all to participate
  8. Choose a Notetaker who can also watch the clock to keep all stages on track
  9. Plan and order refreshments
  10. Follow-up with a summary email
